Welcome to the Power Query Blog!

We are very excited to welcome all of you to the Power Query Team blog.
Power Query is Microsoft’s self-service data preparation technology which provides an intuitive and highly visual experience for non-technical users to easily connect to hundreds of data sources, reshape and clean data from these sources in a homogeneous and consistent way, and seamlessly combine data from one or multiple data sources together so that it can be used in downstream scenarios such as data reporting, analytics, low-code application development, and more.
While Power Query was first released to market as an Excel add-in (for Excel 2010/2013), it has evolved to become natively integrated in newer versions of Excel (Excel 2016 and newer). Power Query is also at the heart of Power BI, so that users can connect & prepare data to be used within their Power BI reports and dashboards. Power Query is also used as a primary data ingestion, transformation, and load tool within many other Microsoft products such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, Azure Data Factory and more.

You can learn more about Power Query integrations in our documentation.
As a result of all of these Power Query product integrations, the number of communication channels (blogs, Community & Ideas forums, etc.) with our customers has grown proportionally. You can find a consolidated list of product-specific channels for Power Query here.
The goal for this new Power Query Team blog is not to replace or divert customers from any of those product-specific channels, but rather to provide an additional “consolidated channel” for those of you who want to stay on top of “all things Power Query” across products. This blog will aggregate announcements related to Power Query from each of the product channels, as well as provide deep dives into several Power Query capabilities, best practices, and more.
In addition to the blog, we are also launching today our official Power Query Twitter account to help you stay on top of the latest Power Query related news and resources – @MSPowerQuery
Power Query is all about connecting to data, but beyond that our team is extremely passionate about connecting with our customers, and also allowing customers to connect with each other.
Welcome again – we hope you will enjoy reading this blog as much as we will enjoy writing it!
